Greetings, Reelin’ in the Years Fans! We were pre-empted last night due to the snowstorm, but I do have a great show lined up all about Let’s Talk Day, sponsored by Bell, in support of mental health. Unlikely we’ll Talk Too Much, but we’ll hear that oldie, we’ll even risk Talking To Strangers against Rick Springfield’s advice, and we’ll do some Jive Talkin’ with the Bee Gees. We’ll have our usual birthday greetings and I encourage you to support the Let’s Talk program. I borrowed a timeslot from another announcer, so now it’s 7:00-9:00, and I owe a debt of gratitude to Bily Ekris, who grasped the importance of the timing, while a guest he invited wasn’t able to make it. So we’re a go!!
In case you couldn’t tell from the name of my show, I’m a massive Rush geek! So, I decided to do an all Rush special this week! All the Rush I could fit in two hours, counting down my favorite tunes. If you missed it, here’s the set:
14. Bastille Day
13. Working Man
12. Something For Nothing
11. Closer To The Heart
10. Red Barchetta
9. Natural Science
7. The Spirit of Radio
6. The Trees
3. Tom Sawyer
2. La Villa Strangiato
Good luck on exams, and Happy Holidays from Axe Radio’s nerdiest Rush geek!
Just a quick little post to say that i will not be here during reading week, so no Counter Culture for you, oh… and also, have a great break everyone.
Join me this evening on Reelin’ In the Years as we belatedly celebrate Thanksgiving through music. Birthday boy Sam Moore of Sam & Dave kicks off our “thanksfest”, but we’ll also hear thankful tunes from John Denver, Abba, Andrew Gold, and of course, The Beatles. We’ll have an impressive collection of A list musical birthdays, and birthday boy Paul Simon will sing a tribute to my Mom, who is also celebrating today. It’s all coming up at 6:00 Atlantic, about 5 and a half hours from the time of this post. http://axeradio.ca/listen-live/#
