The week of 2014-02-17 is reading week at Acadia University, and as such, the Students’ Union Building in which the Axe Radio studio is housed is operating under reduced hours. Additionally, many of our broadcasters are away or otherwise unavailable to perform their shows. Due to these reasons, live broadcasts throughout the week will be sporadic and are not expected to adhere to our usual schedule. Regularly-scheduled broadcasting is expected to resume on Sunday, 2014-02-23.
This Saturday, March 15th, Axe Radio will be co-hosting a Battle of the Bands with our friends at the Acadia Live Different Club! This fundraiser will feature both full bands and acoustic acts!
The event begins at 8PM and goes all night, with a $2 cover at the door!
A setlist will be released later this week.
Hope to see you there!

Join me on Reelin’ In The Years this evening as we celebrate not only Alexander Graham Bell’s birthday, which was yesterday, but also the anniversary later this week of the first ever phone call. So we’ll have all your “phone” song favourites, such as Chantilly Lace, ’60s and ’80s versions of Call Me, we’ll ring Jenny at 867-5309, and dial up a Beatles classic as well. There are important celebrity birthdays to mark, as well as a personal anniversary, so let me know if you have any phone favourites, and tune in at 6:00, as we “ring the Bell” on Reelin in the Years.
Click here to download a copy of the ASU Election Debate from February 4th, 2014. We may have a better link available later today for you to check out too.
Feel free to send me and email if you have any questions about the recording!
Edit 2014-02-05 17:15: The recording and the URL have been updated. You may also listen from this page:
It’s “Let’s Talk Day” sponsored by Bell, and I felt their efforts to bring mental health issues to the forefront was such a worthy endeavour that that will be the theme of the show tonight. Gordon Lightfoot and the Romantics will be Talking in their sleep, The Bee Gees will be Jive Talkin’, and as far as Cliff Richards is concerned, we just don’t talk anymore, but we’ll try to work it out with the Beatles. We’ll mark Pete Seeger’s passing, and also celebrate some birthdays. It’s all coming up on Reelin’ In the Years, at 6:00 ATL,
